Statement
A Cannes-selected short film I illegitimately downloaded off the internet plays out entirely as a series of soundless glitches bearing zero resemblance to the original. The accidental glitches, completely unintended by the artist, becomes the grist for this kaleidoscopic palimpsest, inviting viewers to reassess prevailing notions of prestige, derivativity, and artistic agency in an age of rapid digital obsolescence. How new media's mimesis of decay occurs simultaneously as a creative force reminds us that decay itself is not merely an end, but a generative threshold—where corruption becomes composition, and malfunction opens up new modes of perception.
